In ASTERIX AND SON, who can have dumped a baby outside Asterix's hut? Why are the Romans after the baby - and just what plot is the treacherous Brutus hatching against Julius Caesar?

They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining

I read these comics as a child over and over again. They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining. The story follows the members of a small village in Gaul whom resist the Roman Empire by virtue of a super-strengthening potion brewed by their druid Getafix. The heros of the stories are Asterix ( a short, but smart warrior) and his best friend Obelix ( a large, boar meat loving, loyal but not smart warrior whom fell in a cauldron of magic potion as a child and as a result has permanent super strength). You can read each comic seperately and be able to follow the story, though certain characters do repeat throughout the series. I am buying them again as an adult and enjoying them just as much as I did as a kid. I definitely recommend these comics.

Great stories - wonderful humor

If you haven't read the stories of Asterix and Obelix you should. The translations are great - keeping the puns and the light touch. Very enjoyable.

who get their super strength from a magic potion

This is what French cartoons are all about: lots of humor, no superhero if you except these two, one tiny and one obese, who get their super strength from a magic potion. And of course, being French (or Gallic as they were called at this time), they eat and sing. Every French child know them by heart.

Love these books. Like the "Omnibus" format (3 in 1)

Loved these books as a kid (grew up in Europe.) Excited to find them in "Omnibus" format (3 in 1) to make them more economical. Love reading them with my daughter.

Five Stars

As always, a delightful escapist read with some very valuable messages!

Like the Omnibus 10 and 11

Like the Omnibus 10 and 11, seems like the contents were both written and illustrated by Mr. Uderzo. However for me it still no less fun to read than the rest.

A band of indominable people

Grew up on Asterix and Obelix. I have passed on the tradition to my children!!!

Five Stars

So much fun to share books I loved as a kid with my son.

Five Stars

I love the Asterix series so I bought them all. The earlier versions are better, of course.
